Residential Buildings in Sisak

The two buildings realised within the State-subsidised Housing Programme, won the first prize by the Ministry of public works, restoration and construction in the Architectural and Urban Planning Competition.

The project was conceived as a meander which by alternating filled and empty spaces rhythmically breaks the large volume of the building into a string of smaller volumes. This enabled the apartments to have minimal two sided orientation, with flexible layouts and optimal natural light. The interspace was intended for communal gardens for the tenants to decorate and care for, thus generating social activities.
